Are you innovative and creative enough? You could surely find and put up an earning opportunity online. Starting up a home-based business across the Internet could be challenging, exciting, and risky, all at the same time. Moreover, establishing one is no guarantee that there would be success. Just like all other types of enterprises, many online businesses also fail. The only big difference is that failure in a home-based business in the Internet could not possibly incur too much of financial loss. Are you considering being self-employed? You could capitalize on your skills and talents and use them to put up an online venture of selling services. Here are several ideas.

Videogame testing and reviewing. Are you aware that many videogame firms online are willing to pay a premium to people who would do positive reviews and who would test new game products? The videogame industry is unique in that it manages to stay fit and mighty even amid a fiscal crisis. The field is practically attractive to people who are considering putting up home-based businesses. You could make this a lucrative online career.

Cake baking and decorating. Your artistic skills and talents could be parlayed into a lucrative home-based business. The baking industry could vey well facilitate work-at-home opportunities. If you are a professional baker or patissier, you could easily find local clients who may need your baking and decorating services. Your skills would surely be in demand in weddings, graduations, and birthdays. Who says you could not make use of your profession and talents online?

Babysitting services. You could take care of babies and kids and earn from it. You could use the Internet to find your prospective clients. You could advertise your babysitting services through email or social networking sites. You should indicate that you only accept services within your community or locality. You have no clear idea how lucrative offering such services could be. Many people are now doing it.

Online image consulting. Many professionals find jobs online. Online daters are also rampant. You could earn through providing consultancy services to freelance writers, online jobseekers, and daters who always aim to look and seem more virtually appealing and professional online. You could offer such people your image enhancing skills to help them bolster their own images specifically for online purposes.

Party services. Are you into party planning and organizing? The Internet could be a good venue to facilitate your earning schemes. You could start a home-based business offering this specific service. You could be surprised how many people, businesses, and organizations are constantly in need of services for party decoration, hosting, and catering. Cosmetic, sex, and Tupperware parties are extremely popular especially these days. You could focus on them.

Do you have other practical and exciting ideas for a potential home-based business? The Internet surely could be a good venue to make your home-based endeavor work. Get into it and realize why more and more people prefer to earn online and drop their conventional jobs.

Occasions are an important part of our lives. Even though we do not party everyday at home, our friends will often invite us. During such celebrations, the things that people do to share the moment are many. For instance, they drink wine and liquor together and toast for a special detail about the party planner. These guests should not go home with nothing. One of the common gift ideas is the customized shot glasses. These small beautiful glasses have the same size and shape depending on the style you go for. They are usually for returning a favor to your guests.

In the recent past, the people you invite to feast with you at home could bring gifts to you. When the party ends, such guests would go home with nothing, but sweet memories. Today, people are finding it necessary to reward the guests as they leave the party. A few buy some chocolate packs and other edibles. You should always choose a lasting favor for your guests. The shot glasses provide you with an excellent idea. In particular, you should go for customized shot glasses. These types of glasses are easy to personalize by printing. You can buy already customized glasses only if they go well with the party you are hosting.

For instance, if you have a wedding coming soon, include these glasses in the shopping list. If you are a creative graphic designer, you could by sets of clean shot glasses. Once you have them, print on them whatever you wish. Mainly, couples decide to print helpful messages on the outer surface of the glass. Some will even draw a heart shape or any other symbol of love. Since you will give every guest one of the shot glasses, it is very important for you to think before customizing them. If you think you are not very good at it, give this job to someone who could. Shot glasses feature the same size per pack. You could order in wholesale if you have a big event. Then, call the designer to customize the glasses the way you want.

If you are hosting a birthday event, the available customized items are many. When you want to make the glass special for the person who is celebrating his or her birthday, you could print a short text or a graphic. The other parties you could hold are thanksgiving, farewell, graduations, family gatherings and so on. Consider a different and a special way of decorating your shot glasses to match the event. If you think it is easier and cheaper to buy customized items, and then choose the design carefully.

There are many varieties on the Internet. First, choose your vendor carefully by reading the ordering procedure. You also have to determine the quantity of customized shot glasses that you require. Simply count all your guests and order your glasses. Pick beautiful colors such as purple, red, pale blue and others. Make sure that your guest will appreciate these items as a return for sharing their time and resources with you.

G. Smitty is a writer who loves to discuss many topics ranging from engraved shot glasses to professional basketball. Thanks for reading!

It’s graduation season, and odds are you know someone who is involved with a graduating student.

I drove by my alma mater, Creighton University, the other day on the way to the airport. It seems like yesterday that I was still there attending classes. Reading hundreds of pages weekly, doing papers, projects, speeches, investing many hours in the library doing research…pulling the occasional all-nighter to cram for an exam when I got a bit behind in the work, because I also had a couple of jobs. Oh rest assured I did more than my share of the college party thing, but often had to set aside other activities, saying, “Nahh, I have an exam. Need to study.”

I wasn’t a straight-A student, but did pretty well because I cared. And most anyone who halfway gave a hoot about being in school for the learning can relate to what I’m talking about.

The fact is, is if you wanted a good result, you needed to push yourself to do the work and learn the material. The same, of course is true for today’s students.

But, what happens when we leave the formal institutions we call “school”? When we get out into the school of hard knocks, the real world. The one we’re in the remainder of our lives. The one that determines how much we earn.

Hmmm, have you pulled an all-nighter lately studying up on sales skills?

How many pages of sales skills material have you read in the past week? Heck, the past year?

How many hours have you invested on researching the psychology of sales, your sales process, questioning techniques? How much have you practiced?

How often do you review the way you sound on the phone?

How much did your college tuition cost?

How about your books for a semester?

Compare that to how much you invested in your own self-development, as it relates to sales, in the past year. How does that compare to what you spent on coffee, or at bars, restaurants, or pay-per-view movies?

Note to Sales Pros: please do not rely on your company to provide you with everything you need. Some equip their reps with lots of opportunities for growth, others fail miserably in this area, yet expect great results (I’ll get to them in a minute). As Zig Ziglar said, “What you do off the job determines how well you do on the job.” If you want to grow, it is your personal responsibility. Whatever is provided to you is a bonus.

And by the way, here is something I’ve never heard from the leading salespeople, but hear quite often from the strugglers: “I’ve had sales training before.” That’s like saying, “I had math in the second grade. I don’t need it again.” Or, “I’ve had chicken pox.”

Most people don’t know what they don’t know. IF they’re doing something wrong, how would they know, and get better?

Lots of people get really good at being bad, by continually repeating the same mistakes.

One more thing: be humble about learning. I truly believe in and live the adage, “The more I learn, the more I realize how little I really know.” Yet, after a training session I’ll oftenhave someone come up to me and say, “Thanks, I knew most of this already, but it reminded me of a lot of things.”

Yeah, I know I’m not supposed to raise my body when I strike the golf ball, causing it to go wildly right into the woods. or desert. The fact is, I haven’t practiced enough lately to USE the information when I NEED it, and make it a part of my habits and skills. Never be ashamed about learning.

Note to Managers and Owners: What do you invest in to really, truly develop your people? And I’m not just talking about buying a book and putting it in the library in case someone wants to use it. I’m talking about working with your people, listening to calls, evaluating, coaching. Regularly.

Are your sales meetings sessions where you go over administrative details, or do you get into the nitty gritty of how to actually open up a call, get to a decision maker, ask questions, deal with resistance, move opportunities forward and close business?

You might not believe some of the nonsense I hear when it comes to companies and their sales training. It is absurd, really, when you think that a firm will pay thousands of dollars per year in salary and benefits to hire and employ salespeople, allow them to talk to hundreds of prospects and customers per week, yet many don’t provide more direction or training than, “Go over there and listen to Pat make calls, then get on the phone next week.” And Pat, by the way, was probably trained the same way, and the same wrong, resistance-inducing techniques are passed down.

If you coached or owned a professional sports team, would you allow your team to just play games and not practice? Lots of businesses do just that every day. The champions practice.

I actually heard this from a company recently: “We’re thinking about doing some training with our salespeople in the fourth quarter (they’ve had none so far), but we don’t want to spend too much, and can’t take more than a day.” Good thing they’re going to wait, because I bet the salespeople working for them right now won’t be around. They probably won’t sell up to the company’s expectations and get fired.

I am amazed at how companies will throw huge money at technology, but virtually nothing on their most important asset, their people, and what they are actually saying on the phone.

Note to the Skeptics Out Who Think I’ve Written This Just to Sell Stuff: That will probably be a result, and that’s good because I’m in the business of helping salespeople sell more. In fact, I do hope we sell tons of resources as a result of this sale, since that means my message resonated. (For complete info on the sale we are running right now go to http://www.businessbyphone.com/grad.htm)

However, if I can get just one or two people to email me”"and they will–saying how they are just starting in sales and were inspired to invest more time in taking advantage of all of the great free sales material on the Internet, I will feel gratified.

Am I trying to shame and scold people?

No, I don’t need to. I’m throwing out ideas for people to react to. Of course many of the people reading this”"hopefully you”"are already sales-info junkies, devouring all of the good stuff they can lay their eyes on. And I have worked with many, fine, SALES organizations (you know who you are). But there are others who look at sales more as a job or a manufacturing position than what it really is: an art, a science, and a skill. It is, indeed, all of those. The master sales pro researches, studies, and practices. And, by the way, cashes nice checks.

I’m not going to sit here and claim that I’m perfect. I did a self-inventory and realized that as my business has grown, and I’m pulled in many different directions, I know I can push myself even more. It’s just like taking care of one’s self physically; it’s a matter of determining what you value, and what you’re willing to do to get it done. I know I can, and will continue to, carve out more time to further my own knowledge.

How about you?

Action Step
As we observe students graduating, it’s a great time to make a commitment to our own self-development. What will you do? Don’t just think it or say it. WRITE it down, And then DO it. Every day.

You will never graduate from the school of sales. You either get better, or you decline. And you pick up momentum when you’re headed in either direction.

Once you have graduated from college or university, the hard work begins, and for a lot of graduates, this can be a challenging time, especially with a worldwide recession, and lots of competition to contend with.

You have finally calmed down from the helter skelter of your graduation and the party afterwards. Your relatives are asking you what you are going to do now that you have graduated and you are still waiting to hear back from a couple of job interviews.

Although you are not totally sure that you have given an employer the best impression you are confident that you will have the job of your dreams. Your friends and relatives want to give you career advice but much of it seems unrealistic.

Now is not the time to worry that something is wrong or that you have done something wrong. When you begin your first career search it can be a bit daunting and a little scary but this is because you are acquiring a new skill that you didn’t know you had.

To get you started on that job search here are a few tips:

Tip 1: You don’t have to do this alone. When you are looking for your first job it is a good idea to talk to as many people as you can about the jobs they have open and how your skills meet their openings. Do some job interviews but also do information interviews where you are just looking for information. This can gain you more career advice than you ever imagined.

Tip 2: Dress like you already have the job. Students who dress for success and wear the clothes for the job they want will always come out on top. You want to dress in the way you imagine the top level job you want will require. Present yourself in the best light by dressing professionally no matter what the job you are interviewing for and someone will notice.

Tip 3: Get experience if you don’t get your job right away. If you don’t find the job the first time, look for ways to get experience. Hopefully you found a career that you liked in college and you are leaving with some experience. If this is not the truth, then now is the time to get the experience you need for the job that you want. Take a part-time job in the field or do some volunteer work.

Tip 4: Check with your recruiting office for career advice. Most colleges have recruiting offices and they help their students get jobs. Check out the job boards because these will be jobs that are friendly to new graduates. Ask your recruiting office about opportunities for paid internships because these can be a way to get started in your chosen profession quickly.

Tip 5: Be flexible – This is probably the best career advice we can give you because first jobs are usually made for those people who will step into a lesser job in order to get to the job they want. Don’t be afraid to do this and keep your eyes and ears open for more opportunity. The final career advice we have for you is to be as relaxed as possible when you go in for the interview.

Can anyone think any occasion without cakes? Simply can’t! Be it any occasion, wedding, birthday, marriage anniversary, school college graduation, victory celebration, anything. It is not complete with a beautiful tempting cake with all the toppings and icings! A three-storied vanilla cake with toppings really makes one to jump on! Cakes are bought of different types in accordance to flavor liked and the celebration for which it is brought. However people generally focus more on the flavor. The decorations on the cake are also important. In fact it is the decorations on the cake which first attracts the attention, brings out “wow”s and “goodness me”s much before it is tasted. So for a special party for a special occasion a special with capital S decoration is needed on the cake.

The selection of decoration is done with respective to the outlook of the family, it maybe something conservative and sober like a simple “Happy Birthday to You” or it could be something outrageous such as using some sexual innuendoes or anything which would bring gasps and giggles from the guest! The interest of one and occasion of the party is generally revealed the decoration. For example a chauvinistic person will tend to have the décor like the flag of his or her country or the symbol of his favorite soccer club etc. Some may also have the picture of their favorite singers or players. For parties to celebrate a new house more often than not have cakes with a cream made house structure on them. For romantic occasions like marriage anniversary and weddings romantic knickknacks are used like a heart, two creams made hugging teddy bears and so on. Office parties and celebrations have their brand logos.

One thing is must. That the décor on the cake should be a- class one to make the party special. So that years after when one remembers the party the cake comes first in his or her mind. It should be the best and praised by the guests of the party. The decorations of the cake should be selected with care. One should not have such decors which may offend any guest. So one has to gauge the mood, the people who are coming and take into account their tastes to have a suitable awe inspiring cake décor.

For any party there can be two types of cake decorations. The first is the decoration which cannot be had that is decors which are not edible. Non-edible decorations could be made of things like plastic, wax, paper, wood etc. One advantage in having the non edible ones is that one could have any type of logos, symbols, structures of any shapes and colours. After the party is over the decors could be kept which will serve as mementos for the party for years to come. However some people are against the idea of putting non-edible things in eatables. Though they are primarily non-toxic one could not be sure that the materials won’t react with anything.

Another type of decors could be the edible ones usually made from things like sugar, candies, chocolate, cream, meat, biscuits or walnuts. They are also found in various shapes, and colours. Every one like them a lot as they enjoy eating the cake which decors with Personal bobble heads. The bobble heads are a great idea for it brings in fun. In fact for wedding cakes too they are a great idea as they can be custom wedding cake toppers. Custom bobblehead at affordable prices can for sure enliven your wedding party.

Whether you want to have an indoor or outdoor party, a good Party Rentals company can arrange all the equipments for you. Remember to be as clear as possible when detailing your requirements and expectations. If certain aspects remain unclear, be sure to talk to the party rental representative to get advice on the theme, decoration, and equipment needed for the party.

Having a theme is highly recommended because it makes the event all the more interesting. It is suitable for weddings, graduation, anniversaries, and birthdays. In fact, any occasion can be more cheerful with the addition of chic decors, theme games, and special food items. Consider your unique situation as well. Would it be a good idea to host the event indoors and outdoors? Below are some things you need to look into:

Party Rental – Outdoors

Majority of parties are held indoors because it doesn’t affect the event no matter the climatic conditions of that day. But considering an outdoor party is also a good idea because it contains unique benefits. For instance, people might be tired of the same old theme and the same old style. By hosting an outdoor party, it will breathe new life to the event. In addition, the outdoors is typically bigger than the indoors so people can have more space to socialize.

It is also a good idea to have a backup plan. Weather is unpredictable so calling a party rentals company to get a tent for the day is recommended. Barring extreme conditions like a storm or hurricane, the outdoor party rental tent is enough to keep the party rolling despite bad weather. You don’t need to worry about installing the party rental tent outdoors. Usually, the company will do it for you.

Another reason to host an outdoor party is barbecue. Grilling food is fast, easy, and convenient. There’s no need to prepare the condiments and the food the night earlier if you host this type of party. Chafing dishes can keep the food warm while the serving trays will ensure that all the guests get food.

Party Rental – Indoors

Given the benefits of outdoor parties above, many might already be having second thoughts about the indoor party they have in mind. But before you make the final decision, take note that indoor parties still have its own advantages. Aside from its protection against the weather, decorating the inside of a house is also convenient. Make sure to call a Party Rentals company to get tables, chairs, lighting, and other items. A few personal touches on the party can make it intimate and enjoyable for the guests.

Whatever you decide, the ultimate end result of your party still lies on your preferences. It can range of being casual to formal. Take the taste of your guests into consideration and decide accordingly.

Creating your own slide shows can be fun and entertaining, and easy to accomplish. Almost every digital camera now comes with some sort of software to manage your images. Some have more features than others. Some will allow you to create slideshows. Some will add transitions, and allow image durations to be adjusted. You can also use most video making programs to produce slideshows, which is one way to have more control over the outcome. For example, Windows XP offers MovieMaker, which has many of the functions of a full-blown video producer program. The program allows you to set the duration of each picture, the transition between each picture; offers various effects to apply to individual pictures, and allows you to overlay an audio track.

To start, I have found that most digital images need a little adjustment for viewing on monitors. If your program allows it, I recommend increasing both the brightness and contrast just a few notches. Also, if you can, sharpen them slightly. A note about color: colors come in two categories: transparent and opaque. When you prepare images for printing or for viewing on a monitor you must consider how colors interact with each other. Printed colors, when mixed together, go towards black. Projected colors, when mixed together, go towards white. Printed images are usually produced on equipment with a much higher resolution capability than your monitor, so they will appear richer and sharper in print. Most cameras are preset for printing, and that’s why it’s a good idea to sharpen, brighten and increase the contrast on images to be viewed on the pc.

Selecting your images and ordering them are the next important step. It is best to try and tell a story, to have a logical sequence to your images. Don’t show people going in the house before the shot of them getting out of the car. When you are taking pictures, remember that you may make a slide show, and try to take pictures that will present well in that style; for instance, in a room full of people , start at one side and take many pictures as you swing across to the other side of the room. When presented as slides, it will give the effect of creating the complete environment. Vary the duration of the slides; don’t make them all 3 or 5 seconds, make some shorter and some longer. If there’s one person in a picture, shorten it; if there are many people then lengthen it so people have a chance to look at every face.

Once you have assembled the slideshow and applied transitions and effects, you can put the crowning touch on by adding a narration. You can simply choose some favorite or appropriate music, but to really personalize it, a narration is best. Not everyone is a natural speaker, nor does everyone have the most recordable voice for such a purpose. Here’s where you can take advantage of a program like AV Voice Changer Software to create a separate track, or you could use AV Movie Morpher 2.0 to overdub the production. (You can go to http://mp3-player.audio4fun.com/free-audio-software.htm to download the software for free trials). In that case you will have to output the slideshow first and then open it inside theMovie Morpher program. The nice thing about both of these programs is that they can alter the sound of your voice to make it more entertaining. It can deepen or enrich it, or make it faster or slower; it can even change a male voice to a female-sounding voice. It can add special effects for emphasis or dramatic effect. You should work out either a written narrative or an outline of what you will say, practice it, and then record it. The final outcome will be an entertaining, creative, and personal record of part of your life, whether it’s a party, a graduation, or a simple family gathering, you will have created a cherished memory to be shared for all time.

Is it possible to graduate college debt-free? Unless you’re from a wealthy family, this may seem like an impossibility. But it can be done, if you follow the advice in this article. But be forewarned, it’s not easy. And it can’t be done unless you’re willing to think strategically and work hard.

Before you go out and start applying for student loans, you should pursue financing that doesn’t have to be paid back – i.e., grants and scholarships. It is definitely a good idea to work and study hard in high school. If you have good grades, you should qualify for some kind of scholarship at your school that will at least partially offset your tuition. Another area that can help you with scholarships is your extracurricular activities. Like it or not, you need to think of your high school career in terms of building a resume. The better your resume, the better your chance of getting scholarships. The more things you can do to get your tuition bill down to start with, the easier it will be to figure out how to fund the rest of it.

There are a number of different need-based grants, such as Pell grants, SMART grants, and SEOG grants. There are grants provided by the federal government and grants provided by the states. If you know where you are going to school, you should probably call or visit your school and ask for information about grants and other student aid. You can also find a lot of information by searching online.

The first step in applying for financial aid, such as grants, is filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. The FAFSA has a little over 100 questions that help the government and institutions get a good picture of your financial and academic standing. A lot of financial documentation is required to complete the form, so you should give yourself plenty of time. To make things as easy as possible, you should use the FAFSA4Caster, which is an online application that helps you estimate your eligibility for federal student aid. The information you enter in the FAFSA4Caster can also be ported to the real application, which will save you some time.

If you’re serious about graduating from college debt-free, then you want to avoid student loans. However, the FAFSA will also help you get student loans if need be. Many private student loans offer very good interest rates, so it’s definitely an option.

There is a growing trend in the U.S. of high schools offering classes to students to let them earn college credit before they even enter credit. This is FREE education that will reduce the number of hours you need to take in college to get your degree. You should definitely take advantage of this opportunity if it is offered by your school. The fewer hours of classes you need in college, the less money you’ll need to pay tuition.

If after applying for grants and scholarships, and getting as many credit hours as you can in advance, you still need money, there’s always the old fashioned way to get it: working for it. Possibly the most popular way for college students to make good money is waiting tables in restaurants. In a good restaurant, you could make up to $20 per hour or more. If you’re not the waiting type, you may need to think out of the box. Any job will do, but to pay tuition and living expenses, and still have some money left over, you will probably need to make more than you can make working for minimum wage. Some possibilities include buying and selling items on eBay or offering tutoring services.

Our final tip is to graduate early. You don’t have to spend four years to get your degree (and certainly not five or six, as some students like to do). If you take a heavy load every semester, you can graduate in three or three and a half years. Obviously, the fewer semesters you have to pay for, the less you’ll have to spend. Sure, you’ll be working hard and may not be able to party with your friends as much. But if you’re serious about graduating from college debt-free, then you’ll do what you have to do.

You can have a spectacular party for your dog with a few tips on how to set things up and on how to get things done. Planning is the key to getting the party running successfully and knowing beforehand what needs to be done, what you need to buy, who to invite and where to have the party will help to give you and your beloved pet the kind of party that is both fun and memorable.

Why you are celebrating is up to you. It could be your pet’s birthday, graduation from dog school or a doggy shower. Whatever the reason, you will need to plan around that occasion and come up with ideas that will make your pet, your guests, and your guests’ pets enjoy the day immensely.

Start Off with a Motif for Your Doggy Party

Some people may think that any motif will do for a doggy party, but hey, if you are celebrating an occasion for your pet, why not do it the right way? The motif for your pet’s party may depend on the occasion itself. If its a birthday, you may want to put the usual birthday type decorations for your dog’s birthday, although you might want to think more in terms of doggy décor, like bones with ribbons, smaller party hats and such.

If the party is for his doggy school graduation, you can have a graduation style motif for your party. Or if it is a puppy shower, you can have a shower motif, like small baby bottles and hanging mobiles to help give out that baby shower effect for you dog’s puppy shower.

Plan the Location, the Invitations and the Food

Location

Before you can send out invites or even create a food menu for both humans and animals in your party, you may need to look for a suitable venue for your doggy bash. While the most convenient place for such an event may be your backyard, you may need to reconsider the hassle of having so many dogs and humans trampling through your house. Try to consider a park for a picnic-like setting. You can also try to find a venue that allows pets, if you are planning on an indoor affair.

Invitations

When you are thinking of who to invite for your dog’s bash, you may want to consider the people who interact with your dog on a regular basis. You should consider inviting those friends of yours who are dog lovers as well and those who may have pets that your dog has interacted with in the past. You can also invite the dogs that your pet has played with on your walks or from some of the doggy establishments you visit. Try to make sure that you do not have too many dogs coming to your pup’s party since this may result in chaos. Just have enough of your pet’s pals around to really make it a pet event.

Once you know who you plan to invite for your dog’s big day, you may then plan the menu and choose which kinds of food you may want to serve your guests and your pet’s guests. You can also choose the invitations you want for the occasion and send them out as soon as you think it is possible to give people time to prepare for the coming event.

The Menu

When you are considering the food for the party, you might want to think in terms of two menus, one for your human guests and another for your pet’s furry four legged friends. This menu should consist of easy to eat foods since the pet owners you invite will also have to tend to their little ones and having food that is complicated or hard to handle may just cramp the movements of your guests. The menu that your four legged guests will have should consist of the kind of food that they can easily nibble on. There are a few doggy bakeries that specialize in packages like this for such occasions and looking through their menus for what you might want for your doggy guests will indeed help you set things up without a hitch.

Of course, you may want to prepare individual place settings and doggy bowls for your dog’s pals. Having an individual place setting for each canine will help each one get his or her own share of the goodies at the party and may also serve to help avoid chaotic scenarios when feeding time comes around.

Activities

What is a party without a few games? Try to organize a few games that involve both the pets and the owners. These activities may include fetch games, funny games or simple dog and owner games, like races where both owners and pets run to and from a set point in the venue. You can even try to come up with a fashion show contest where the owners dress up their dogs in their nicest togs and have the guests who do not have pets at the party judge who is the best costumed pooch in the venue.

Other activities may involve a simple trick contest. The pup that does the most doggy tricks may win a prize or the pup that performs the most unique trick wins a prize. Of course, you may have to prepare a prize that is suited to the winners and you may even include prizes for the owners too, if you want.

Do not forget to take pictures of the event so that you can look back at it and enjoy reliving the day anytime you want. You can place these photos in a special album with your pet’s face on the front and the date of the party as well as the occasion.

All in all, planning a party for your dog need not be a hassle if you plan way ahead of time. Having all the things you need in place and doing what needs to be done before hand will indeed help your pet enjoy his or her party and will help you enjoy it too.

Putting together a successful class reunion requires planning, a lot of hard work and money. But you don’t have to break the bank when it comes to providing reunion favors for your classmates. Here are nine tips to help you save money on class reunion favors.

Plan in Advance

1. Browse online for bargains. It takes time to hunt for the best deals. You should be able to find the same or a similar item in a wide range of prices. If you give yourself that extra time, you can obtain samples, judge the quality, and determine the best value.

2. Avoid rush orders. Remember, it usually takes longer for a company to create custom personalized reunion favors, than it would be to obtain a ready made item. If you wait until the last minute, you might get stuck paying a fee to speed up your order. At the very least, you’ll be paying extra for faster shipping to get your reunion favors on time.

Do The Math

3. Watch for hidden fees. Yes, you might be able to purchase those imprinted pens for 53 cents each. But before you rush to order, find out what is the minimum amount you need to buy. If the company’s policy is that you have to buy at least 300 pens and you only have 80 people planning to attend your class reunion, then you’ll have 220 pens left over. So, it’s really not that good a deal. You would be better off paying a little extra for an item with a business that allows you to order only what you need.

4. Check to see if there’s a set up fee. Many times a company will advertise a low price, but then hit you with a hefty charge for designing your custom reunion favors. Make sure you read the fine print.

5. Pay close attention to the sliding scale in prices, based on the amount that you are purchasing. Some companies charge you less if you buy in greater volume. Let’s say you found personalized class reunion magnets for $1.75 each if you are ordering less than 100 favors. However, these same magnets are only $1.50 each if you buy more than 100 favors. You need 90 magnets as giveaways for your reunion. If you ordered exactly 90 at $1.75 each, your cost would be $157.60. However, if you order 100 at $1.50 each, your total would be $150. So, in this case, you would save money, $7.60 to be exact, if you purchased 10 extra magnets. If you want to save, then crunch the numbers.

Handmade vs. Custom-Made

6. Beware the handcrafted money pit. If you’re trying to save money on these giveaways, you might be thinking of making reunion favors yourself or delegating the task to a group of volunteers. But before you stock up on supplies at the craft store, add up the cost for each of the elements of your favors. Craft supplies are not cheap. You might be surprised at what you’re paying for your handmade creations. It is possible that you could save money by purchasing ready made or custom made favors from a company that specializes in them.

7. Check out cheap do-it-yourself alternatives. Not all handmade items are expensive to make. You can make your own class reunion candy bar wrappers, for example. There are free, printable chocolate bar wrapper templates online. Or, if you know someone creative, he or she can design a candy bar wrapper with your personalization and school colors. You have to pay for the candy bars (a 5 oz. Hershey bar is a nice size) and the printing, but it shouldn’t break your budget.

8. Consider the wow factor. You can get away with spending very little money on class reunion favors, if you purchase giveaways that make an impression. You can find items such as personalized reunion bookmarks or pocket notebooks with fun facts from the year you graduated for a couple of dollars or less. Or, take a group photo at the reunion party and print copies of it on the spot with one of those portable printers. Then give everyone a copy to take home with them. You could even add a dollar store 4 x 6 inch frame, and your total cost would still be low. Use your imagination and go for unique.

9. Can’t afford to give it away? Sell it! Imprinted t-shirts and personalized tote bags are great reunion items, but they’re expensive. You can take orders for these from your reunion website and sell them at the event itself. Your classmates will love them and it will help you pay for the reunion favors that you give away and for other things.

So, take some time to check out all your low cost options for class reunion favors. Go over the price to get the best value and make sure you know what you’re paying. Then choose something cheap, but unique. Your classmates will love their class reunion favors, and they’ll never guess how much money you saved.
