Please join us in celebrating [john doe's] High school graduation and entry into service
would go on with normal invite stuff, date time etc.

I would put the name of the high school and the branch of the military, IMO, but that’s completely up to you.
I love the wording. I think that it is great. Why not celerbrate both at the same time. Just make sure that his branch wears fatigues.
