Kindergarten graduation is a great time for the family as much as it is for the kids. They are so excited to wear their kindergarten graduation caps and gown thinking it be a new party dress. Everybody is happy including the parents. There are certain parents who become little nervous of the kindergarten graduation ceremony. They are nervous not because they have to spend money in shopping for kindergarten gowns , caps and tassel. The reason for their nervousness is that they have to prepare themselves for the kindergarten graduation speech of their child. Many parents become so nervous that they feel like skipping the ceremony itself.
I tell you from own experience, the day has to be enjoyed and celebrated and should not be treated as something dreadful. It is obvious to feel little odd and nervous to go up to the stage and deliver a speech and that a good one. Take my word; it is very easy and interesting thing to do. Earlier I was also going through the same feeling. I got the invitation from the school to speak on the behalf of all parents in the kindergarten graduation ceremony of my daughter. I thought it was going to be fun and I had planned for a short casual introductory speech. Afterwards I realize the gravity of the situation because I did not want to disappoint my daughter. Also, I wanted to speak good and perfectly in front of other parents. I felt I had so much responsibility then.
I made up my mind and prepared myself for a long and effective speech. I listed down the areas which I had to take care of. Then, I prepared a list of points that I wanted to speak for. I made a short speech for thanking the school authority for choosing me to speak, another one to thank the school for the good work they were doing and the third speech for my little daughter who was looking like angel in her cute Caps and gowns for Kindergarten. I also prepared for the tone of my voice. I wanted to be clear and loud. The language which I used for the speech was simple and basic because the target audience was also our little ones. I prepared my speech, practiced it thoroughly and when the final time came, I very nicely comfortably delivered the whole speech, smiling throughout.
Therefore, go on and welcome this opportunity and give your best shot. Speak about those things in which kids have interest. Don’t make the speech long and boring. Maintain eye contact with the children and maintain a calm yet smiling posture. Children should not feel that you are lecturing them. In fact it should appear that there mom and dad are talking to them and appreciating them. Do not shower too much praise on your child only, but treat other children equally. Try to get some information about other children and mention there qualities also.
This will make them as well as their parents feel good towards you.
