PREPARING FOR YOUR GRADUATION CEREMONY

Many people do not plan for their graduation ceremony before hand, which is why on that day’s instead of being their composed self and enjoy their day, they are filled with tension over what could go wrong or who was not yet there.

Since your graduation date will be announced a long way before the day, it is wise to plan for the day before hand.  There are many aspects of the day that you need to pay close attention to and a lot of running around to do, so you need to start out on time.

The first thing that should be on your list is purchasing your attire for the day. If your school has a specific color of gown and cap, you should find out before hand and begin to make plans to get yours. Find out how much every thing about your graduation ceremony will cost you and decide the fraction that should go for your gown and other graduation accessories. This will aid you in knowing if you should order for a new gown or a used one. There are shops where you can get cheap graduation robes that are still good even though they are not brand new. They also have cheap caps for graduation. Ask around and ensure you make the arrangement on time.

After you have made your order for your gown, the next thing is to start sending out your invitations to family and friends. Ensure that you are working from a pre-written list of all those you want to invite. This will help you eliminate the error of omitting a dear one’s name. Make sure that the invitation gets to those you want to come a good while before the day so they can have time to adjust their schedule.

Also you may want to keep the memories of your graduation day ever green. You should do this through pictures and videos. Ensure that someone who knows how to use the camcorder is present in your company and also remember to either come with your camera or ask a friend to bring hers. This day will never come again so do all you can to make it memorable.

You have to decide if there will be any party or refreshments and also make plans for it. If the food and drinks will be homemade, ensure all those who should help you are informed on time and that they are present. If you are ordering from a restaurant, then it is better to make the order at least a week before graduation day and also call to remind them before the ceremony.

Finally it’s the eve of the grand occasion. You will be doing yourself a favor if you try on your gown to ensure that you know how to wear them. Check your tassels, cords and other accessories and ensure that everything is in place so that when you wake up in the morning your attire will no longer feel unfamiliar.
