The tradition of wearing traditional regalia for commencement started in monasteries as a ritual practice for the numerous religious occasions of which they regularly observe. The idea of wearing a graduation cap & gown originated from this concept. Many students who devoted his or her time and effort in studying to further their future chances of success and subsequent schooling await this event – which will ultimately place them in the right job for later in life. The idea of wearing black robes also came from those monasteries, as this color is respectful to their God or higher power.

Nowadays there are various institutions requiring their students and faculty members to wear clothing in uniformity according to their customs and traditions. There were still academic locations today that strictly observe the guidelines on how students should wear their regalia according to the concept of religious ties in the past. This is done to keep certain habits intact, especially when it comes to wearing requisite attire. Today’s garments are made with thin fabric unlike the intricate styling and heavy tapestries of years passed.

It is very common for many of pre school graduation gowns and preschool caps to reflect the school’s color and traditions and not that of the 12th century. Although the usual colors sometimes look dull, most schools still opt them because of their possession of essence. There are still some other things you can do to customize to make your graduation gowns look nicer. There are various designs you can make out of a lifeless robe, just make sure you will ask for your teacher’s consent before you start. There are several fields of study that utilize various colors. For men the most common style is dark colored shirts that the exterior coverings. You should not forget your neck tie for added seriousness. A pair of black pants will do once to maintain that classic and polished look well after you take off your uniform.

Girls should wear a nice and light-colored dress to match their cloaks. The appropriate length and style should also meet certain codes and classic style of the event. An elegant yet simple shoe will complement the entire ensemble, but be certain your pair is either new or freshly polished. For both young males and females, even with the headpiece, care should be taken with having clean and fresh cut hair. Ladies, keep makeup minimal.. This is one day you should pay particular attention to your outward appearance – and add a smile for all those pictures!

Once the ceremonies have ended, keep your gear in a nice place for storage. They signify an important occasion in your lifetime and should be recognized as such for future memories.
