What to do for a “spa day”?

My last day of school is next Tuesday and next Wednesday is my 8th grade graduation Mass and party. Most girls in my class are going to get their hair, nails, and makeup done professionally (all the spoiled brats) that day, but my best friend and I are “opting out” of doing that. We’ve decided to have a spa day that day instead. Outside of the boring, mani & pedi/facemask-type things, what kinds of things could my friend and I do at our spa day? (We have around 30, give or take some, bucks to spend on supplies and such.)
No, I mean things we can do at home!
I am being honest with myself; we have the money, we just don’t feel it’s necessary to spend our money we earned from hours of babysitting on someone else doing what we could do for ourselves!

Well for my sisters 16th birthday she went to a spa and her and my mom got massages at a hotel. They said they were enjoyable and relaxing.

And if this helps, I’ve been in a sauna and I couldn’t breath. I’d say never do that. It’s gross and it made me sweat in places that I didn’t know I could sweat lol

The “boring” things you name are what is done on a “spa day”.
Get real and be honest with yourself. You really want to have your hair, nails and make-up done too but are restricted by cash flow.
You can get your hair and nails done at a beauty college at a cut rate and most major department stores do make-up for free at their cosmetic counters so do all of that and you can be “spoiled brats” too.

You can prepare fruit teas (they usually serve refreshing beverages at spas). If you’re doing the spa day at home on your own, you can even make your lip balms and lotions. Here are the instructions – most supplies can be found at health food stores, good grocery stores or pharmacies:
This lip balm recipe is easy to make and pretty versatile. You can try different flavoring oils to suite your taste.

    Ingredients:

    * 1/4 cup vegetable or nut oil (Example: Almond oil)
    * 1/4 ounce beeswax
    * 1 teaspoon honey or glycerine
    * 1/2 to 1 teaspoon natural flavoring oil (Example: Peppermint or Lemon oil)

    Directions:

Melt beeswax in a double boiler. Remove from heat and whip with an electric beater until creamy. Combine other ingredients and whip until thoroughly mixed. Store in an airtight jar.

You can also light candles and listen to soothing music when you have your masks on. Most importantly, enjoy your day!!!

Buy some oil and lotion and stuff and give each other massages! Aw my 8th grade graduation was so much fun! I had a party at my house afterwards and we filled part of the pool with orange kool aid and blue ice cubes(our school colors were orange and blue)! It was awesome. There were like 30 people sleeping on my bedroom floor that night. haha. Have Fun!!!

You could go to the health food store and buy natural products to make yourself beautiful. A lot of salon products are way overrated anyway.

You could get some coconut oil, tea tree oil, or aloe vera gel-all are good for the skin.

You could also get some exotic fruits you haven’t tried before (or rarely eat). Get some raw coconut, (chopped and ready to go) lime, mango and papaya. Maybe look around an asian food store for coconut juice, aloe vera juice or lime juice. That plus a visit to the health food store should give you plenty of ideas.

    Good luck!
